Our members are active and busy promoting the 3 R’s of Recycling, Reusing and Reducing, and therefore we would like to give the opportunity of informing the general public on the activities.
The RNF, together with Associate Members HAN (Hospitality Association of Namibia) and Eco-Awards Namibia, recently introduced an awareness campaign to alert especially the tourism and hospitality industry, on the effects of single use plastics on the environment. The campaign will be continued highlighting the effects of other single use plastics, and encouraging to opt for alternatives – such as reusable items. The artwork for this campaign was drafted for the RNF by the Bank Windhoek creative team.
The Recycle Namibia Forum hosted its first ever Windhoek Recycle Day on 22 October 2016 – providing a one stop drop off point for a range of recyclables, plus the opportunity to safely dispose of household batteries and fluorescent lightbulbs. Together with the input of our members and schools, a great deal of fun was had!
Two more Recycle Days are planned for 2017, so watch this space!
Come join us for Windhoek’s first one stop recycle day and bring all you recyclables.
Anglers are encouraged to clean-up the beaches where they are fishing, and to participate in the Garbage Bag Challenge.

The Recycle Namibia Forum has been working closely with the City of Windhoek to encourage Windhoek residents to become proactive in reducing their water consumption and reusing water on plants. Recycle Namibia Forum was afforded the opportunity to run a competition on the Rent-a-Win platform, with prizes sponsored by its members. Ohlthaver & List supported the idea, and sponsored vouchers at Pick n Pay to the value of N$1 000, whilst Fendler Consulting hosted the Rent-a-Win platform and offered N$500 cash for the runner-up.
